Bryan Innovation Lab

Bryan Innovation Lab

You are invited to the Modern Richmond's Fall Tour Kickoff on Wednesday, September 23rd at 5:30 pm.

Step Inside the Bryan Innovation Lab, with a Panel Discussion on "Sustainable Architecture in Education"

Join Modern Richmond as we kick off our first Fall tour of the season at the Bryan Innovation Lab, a striking indoor-outdoor complex on the campus of The Steward School, designed by 3North.

Envisioned as a "field trip on campus," the Lab was built around the scientific method itself with distinct spaces for Observation, Hypothesis, Testing, and Conclusion. Explore the geothermal systems, rainwater cisterns, working kitchen garden, and makerspace that make this building as much a teaching tool as it is a place to gather. The project has earned numerous accolades, including the U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon School Award and the AIA Richmond Design Award.

You'll hear directly from the team behind the project including Jay Hugo, AIA, ASLA, ASID Founder & Managing Principal, 3North Licensed architect, landscape architect, and interior designer with a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. in Architecture from the University of Virginia. In addition we will have members of The Steward School community Faculty and staff who were integral to bringing the Lab's vision to life.
